A Democratic congresswoman from Milwaukee says she doesn’t believe Donald Trump or Ben Carson are truly the frontrunners among the Republiccan presidential candidates, even though the polls may indicate otherwise. Congresswoman Gwen Moore says at this stage the Republican race has been more of a popularity contest than a debate of the real issues. “I think that once voters really engage to the issues they’re going to choose someone else and I think that’s why you see folk like Jeb Bush hanging on, waiting for that moment when the voters get serious,” Moore told WFDL news. Moore made the comments during a stop at the Fond du Lac Labor Hall this week.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
