11-13-15 republican presidential debate-local reaction

The Fond du Lac County Republican party treasurer says he was impressed with this week’s Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee.  Rohn Bishop was in attendance at the Milwaukee Theatre for Tuesday night’s debate.  Bishop says after watching and listening to the candidates it is amazing to him that Donald Trump is still on top of the polls.  “He kind of comes off strong in leadership by the way he presents himself and the way he is speaking.  But if you pay attention to the issues he doesn’t really know what he is talking about,” Bishop told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  Bishop says Marco Rubio and Carly Fiorina were the most impressive to him.  Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says while all of the Republican presidential candidates had their moments in this week’s debate…none of them stood out above the rest.  Grothman was in attendance at Tuesday night’s debate in Milwaukee.  “I thought Rubio did well except they didn’t ask him the tough questions, and I think Carly Fiorina was good, I thought Rand Paul made some good points,”  Grothman said.  Grothman says he was also impressed with New Jersey governor Chris Christie in the undercard debate and hopes he gets another shot on the main stage.  Grothman says he wishes the debate panel would have asked the candidates about how they would handle the country’s debt problem.
