One person was killed and one person was injured in a two vehicle crash on Highway 23 east of Fond du lac. The Fond du Lac County 911 Center received reports Monday afternoon of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Hwy 23 and CTH G in the town of Forest. Responding agencies included the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Wis State Patrol, Mt Calvary EMS, Mt Calvary Fire Dept, St Cloud Fire & First Responders, FDL Fire Paramedics and Flight for Life. A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle was northbound on CTH G, stopped and proceeded into the intersection into the path of a vehicle that was westbound on Hwy 23. The westbound car was operated by a 56 year old male, Kee Thao, from Madison, he sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the westbound vehicle, 55 year old female, Yer Lee, from Madison, was transported to St Agnes Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the northbound vehicle, Robert Roehrig, 63 years old from Fond du Lac, was not injured. The crash is under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
