A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony was held this week for a new Campbellsport business. Swenson Tool & Die has relocated from Kewaskum to 283 Industrial Parkway in the Campbellsport Business Park. Fond du lac County Economic Development Corporation president, Steve Jenkins says the company made the move after receiving funding from the county’s Community Development Block Grant Program as well as the Fond du Lac County’s Small Business Revolving Loan Fund, administered by FCEDC. “It was a win-win all the way around,” Jenkins told WFDL news. “I think its a good thing for Campellsport, and its a good thing for the county.” Jenkins says the company recognizes the value of the workforce in Fond du Lac County. Swenson Tool & Die employs 24 people. The business casts plates used at other factories to brace parts during welding.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
