Downtown Fond du Lac non-profit, Life Enforcement, is seeking nominations for families to enjoy the 2nd annual Friends & Family Christmas Dinner. Life Enforcement President Keywon Brown is asking members of the community for help identifying individuals and families that would benefit from such an evening out by completing the online nomination form at www.LifeEnforcement.com.  “We plan to collect names of deserving people from local resources and names submitted by the public as well,” Brown said. “Please note that our idea of ‘deserving’ is not limited to one’s wealth or lack thereof. A deserving person could be someone who has given much to our community or otherwise cannot get out and enjoy themselves despite deserving a beautiful night out.”   Brown says the group’s goal of providing an amazing experience for guest also includes distributing door prizes in the form of gift certificates and/or coupons from local businesses. Life Enforcement is recognized as a 501c3 non-profit organization; meaning any and all donations are tax exempt. “Life Enforcement will graciously accept any assistance that you can give towards making this amazing event possible,” said Brown.  The 2nd annual Friends & Family Christmas Dinner  is set for 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 795 Fond du Lac Avenue. Brown and a team of volunteers are hoping to serve 100 deserving children and their families with a free, formal banquet-style dinner experience. The menu for the 2015 event includes chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, ham, vegetable side dishes and more – all set in a beautiful dining hall with an elegant atmosphere.  “We will also have a band and singers performing light Christmas music in the background during the festivities,” Brown added. “Life Enforcement wants to provide these deserving people with that luxury, but we can’t pull this off without the community’s help.”  In 2014, Life Enforcement volunteers set a goal of blessing 50 deserving people by inviting them to the first Friends & Family Christmas Dinner. Over 165 individuals from all walks of life attended the event made possible by the community’s generosity.  “Every year there are several people who are unable to get together with family during the Christmas season or people who simply do not have a family to celebrate with,” Brown said. “There are also people who cannot afford to have a Christmas dinner. And unfortunately there are families who have stretched their last dime and know treating themselves would be a luxury, even though they deserve it.”  Known for their “Take Care Of” program, or TCO’d, Life Enforcement’s mission in reaching out and caring for members of the community is made possible by organizing creative volunteer events that bring awareness to important issues, or encourage generosity and selflessness. Life Enforcement is sponsored by Thrivent Financial Care Abounds in Communities, Holiday Automotive, Fond du Lac Police Department and the wonderful individuals in the Fond du Lac Community.  For more information please visit our website at www.LifeEnforcement.com and click on the 2015 Friends & Family Christmas Dinner link, or contact Brown at (920) 933-4589 or kbrown@lifeenforcement.com.
