The Salvation Army Kettles, each a cheerful Christmas red, will stand tall throughout Fond du Lac until December 24.   Seventeen kettles with volunteer bell-ringers and 87 counter top “minis” welcome passersby, at several Fond du Lac locations.  This year’s Red Kettle Christmas Appeal seeks $150,000 through kettle contributions. Thirty five percent of The Salvation Army’s annual operating budget comes from the Red Kettle Christmas drive.  Funds raised are tax-deductible  and support Christmas Assistance for 600 families, a Thrift Store,   a 13,700 summer  free lunch program,  Fond du Lac’s largest food pantry, and year round essential services for families in need.  This year’s campaign is spearheaded by U.S Bank and The Stone Foundation.
