MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Proposals that would wipe out Wisconsin's nonpartisan elections board and overhaul campaign finance law are set to be considered by the Senate later this week in an extraordinary session. The state Assembly passed the bills last month but the measures have bogged down in the Senate. Now action is scheduled for Friday.

The 81-year-old most valuable player in the first Super Bowl is recovering from a life-threatening lung infection about a year after a heart attack and multiple strokes debilitated him.

A North Fond du lac woman has been convicted of social security fraud.  According to court documents 56 year old Marianne Truitt pleaded no contest tn federal court to embezzlement.  Investigators say she collected more than $248,000 in benefits for 15 years after her mother died in 1995.  Investigators say Truitt initially thought she was entitled to the benefits, based on what her mother had told her, but by 2000, […]

11-3-15 waupun correctional officer beaten

Sources inside the Waupun Correctional Institution say a correctional officer was severely beaten by an inmate.  The incident was reported Friday afternoon during second shift.  Sources tell WFDL news the female officer was dragged into a secluded area and physically assaulted.  She was transported to the hospital, but the extent of her injuries is unknown.  A DOC spokesman says the victim "will be fine."  The inmate was working as a […]
