The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office may be closing in on a suspect in a gas station robbery near Beaver Dam last week. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the BP gas station on Madison Street was robbed last Tuesday. Schmidt says the suspect displayed a weapon, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. He says the white male suspect was last seen traveling westbound on Lake Crest Drive in the city of Beaver Dam leading investigators to believe he may be from the area. A $500 reward is being offered by the gas station owners for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. Anyone with information should contact the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office at 920- 386-3726.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
