The Fond du Lac County Board has gone on record in opposition to placing out of county sex offenders in Fond du Lac County. At their meeting Tuesday night the board voted unanimously in favor of a resolution in opposition to placing Milwaukee resident Clint Rhymes at a town of Eldorado residence. On Monday the state withdrew that supervised release plan and is asking a judge for 90 days to find a different location. A hearing is scheduled for 11am Wednesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Mick Fink says Chapter 980 sex offenders who are released from custody should be placed in the county where they are from. “All along we wanted to get the conversation going,” Fink told WFDL news. “I got a little fussy and the folks in Eldorado didn’t want to deal with that so hopefully we’ll get some discussion going.” Rhymes was convicted in 1988 of sexual assault and attempted murder.
