A Mount Calvary man has been charged in connection with a fatal car crash in Fond du Lac County. Nineteen year old Jacob Zielicke is charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle with a prohibitive alcohol content and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Investigators say Zielicke was the driver of a car that crashed on Lap Road north of Golf Course Drive in the town of Taycheeda. A passenger in the car, 20 year old Jake Treptow of Fond du lac was killed in the August 15th crash. Zielicke is free on a $25,000 signature bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 28th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
