12-17-15 state lawmaker says walker administration played role in dhs withdrawal of sex offender placement plan

todayDecember 17, 2015

The decision to reverse a controversial supervised release plan for a violent sex offender may have been influenced by the governor’s office.  That’s what Republican state representative Michael Schraa told the town of Eldorado chairman this week.  “The DHS secretary is under the auspices of the governor’s office, so people can make their own conclusions,”  Schraa told WFDL news.  “I think there were enough phone calls made.  I think the governor and his staff probably were very involved in this process all along.”  DHS had recommended Clint Rhymes be placed at a town of Eldorado residence even though he was convicted in Milwaukee County.  DHS announced Monday they were withdrawing the plan and would look for another location for Rhymes.
