A Fond du Lac man convicted of setting fire to his home is going to prison. Fond du lac judge Robert Wirtz sentenced 29 year old Colin Habram to 17 years in prison followed by ten years of extended supervision. Habram earlier pleaded no contest to arson. Habram was accused of setting fire to a residence at 410 Ellis Street April 14th to collect insurance money to buy heroin. His pet dog died in the fire.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
