The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Beaver Dam man accused of stealing from a good samaritan who let him sleep on his couch during this week’s snowstorm. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says a Dodge County Safe Ride program driver, Ronald Gafner, picked up a man who had too much to drink at a Beaver Dam bowling alley early Tuesday morning. Schmidt says Gafner first drove Brian Krieger to a Beaver Dam residence and when he couldn’t make contact with anyone in the building offered to let Krieger sleep on the couch at his home. When he got up the next morning Gafner said his flat screen television was gone and his vehicle had been stolen. Schmidt says the stolen vehicle is a green colored 1994 Plymouth Voyager, with the Wisconsin disabled license plate number 68681D. The van is equipped with a wheelchair lift. The van was recovered last night in Milwaukee. Krieger’s whereabouts are still unknown.
