FARGO, N.D. (AP) — An Allegiant airplane flying from Florida to Wisconsin made a safe emergency landing in North Dakota after having mechanical issues. The plane with 107 passengers and six crew members on board landed safely at Fargo’s Hector International Airport about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Emergency responders said the plane had a deicing problem. The plane was en route from Orlando, Florida, to Appleton, Wisconsin. Allegiant says passengers were put on a Tuesday morning flight from Fargo to Appleton and given $100 credit for future travel.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
