Wisconsin is getting a soaking from rare December rainfall.   The National Weather Service had issued flood watches for southwestern, south-central, southeastern and northeastern Wisconsin as a slug of rain pushes northward into Wisconsin from the central U.S.  The watch was cancelled shortly after 9am Monday.   In southwest Wisconsin, the weather service says nearly 4 inches of rain already had fallen on Viroqua by Sunday morning, and it was […]

The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works says a portion of Division Street will be closed Monday morning.  Division Street between Main Street and Portland Street will be closed Monday,  in the morning only to allow a crane to be placed for rooftop work at the Ramada Hotel.  Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route as there will not be a  signed detour.

Fond du Lac's Moraine Park Technical College has announced a new partnership with Ottawa University in the Milwaukee suburb of Brookfield.  The two colleges have partnered to allow for students to have up to 80 earned credits from Moraine Park transfer to Ottawa University.  Of the 124 credit hours required to complete a bachelor’s degree, the remaining 44 upper division credit hours are taken at Ottawa University and can be […]

(AP) — The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has given the system's adult education arm the authority to grant business degrees.  The regents unanimously approved changes to UW-Extension's mission statement Friday allowing it to grant business certificates, associate degrees and bachelor's degrees in businesses through the UW System's Flex Option. OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a man shot and wounded by law enforcement officers outside the Algoma town hall just west of Oshkosh threatened suicide before he rammed a squad car.  Winnebago County Sheriff John Matz told reporters Friday that authorities were looking for 57-year-old Richard L.
