OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Police at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh are investigating a suspicious fire in a dormitory.  Firefighters responded to Fletcher Hall Monday afternoon. They were able to keep the fire contained to the basement.  Students were evacuated. 12-9-15 polk county da pleads not guilty to owi in fdl county

The Polk County District Attorney has pleaded not guilty to OWI in Fond du Lac County.  Daniel Steffen was arrested last month on Highway 23 east of Fond du lac.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says a sheriff’s deputy working an enforcement detail on Highway 23 initially pulled Steffen over for speeding.  Steffen  entered the written plea at an initial court appearance this week.  He was not […]

12-9-15 ripon restaurant fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a Ripon restaurant early this morning.  Firefighters were called to Ripon Family Restaurant on West Fond du Lac Street to find flames shooting out of the roof. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at a town of Beaver Dam gas station.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the BP gas station on Madison Street was robbed at gunpoint shortly after 8am Tuesday.  The suspect displayed a weapon, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.  He was last seen traveling westbound on Lake Crest Drive in the city of Beaver Dam.  A $500 […]

The president of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs says a new trail pass will help local clubs better maintain trails throughout the season.  The new law requires a $30 trail pass to ride a snowmobile on the state’s snowmobile system.  But the law gives a $20 discount to snowmobile club members.
