12-30-15 osha cites ripon company for safety violation

RIPON, Wis. (AP) — The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a commercial laundry machine manufacturer in Ripon for a repeated safety violation.  Employees from OSHA's Appleton office inspected the workplace at Alliance Laundry Systems after an employee's right hand was crushed by a folding machine. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin legislators are moving toward getting rid of restrictions on nuclear power in the state.  The restrictions were enacted following the meltdown at the Three Mile Island plant in Pennsylvania in 1979. FARGO, N.D. (AP) — An Allegiant airplane flying from Florida to Wisconsin made a safe emergency landing in North Dakota after having mechanical issues.  The plane with 107 passengers and six crew members on board landed safely at Fargo's Hector International Airport about 8:30 p.m. Monday. A pilot was injured when his airplane crash landed in the Town of Watertown Sunday afternoon.  The crash happened in the area of Aliceton Drive and Ceaser Road.  The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says the aircraft left the Watertown Airport shortly before 5:00 p.m. heading to Kenosha Airport.  Shortly after takeoff the pilot, a 67 year old Lake Forest, Illinois man, made contact with Air Traffic Control and advised he […]

12-27-15 fdl family dollar store robbed at gunpoint

Nobody was injured in an armed robbery at a Fond du lac Family Dollar store.  Police were called shortly before 9am Sunday to the store at 47 West Scott Street.  Police say a man wearing a ski mask entered the store, threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded money.  The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in what was described as a maroon-rust colored Ford Bronco or old Blazer-style SUV.   The […]
