1-5-16 fdl fire chief pleased with sentence for arsonist

todayJanuary 5, 2016

The Fond du Lac Fire Chief says he’s satisfied with a sentence given a man convicted of setting fire to his home.  Colin Habram was sentenced last week to 17 years in prison and ten years extended supervision.   Police say Habram set fire to his Ellis Street home last spring to collect insurance money to buy heroin.  Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’leary says while he feels bad for Habram because of his drug addiction, its always concerning when lives are placed in jeopardy because of an arson.  “I applaud the judge.  Its tough to come down on arsonists but as you know we had the Hometown Harbor fire, we’ve had other intentionally set fire and the judiciary of Fond du Lac County is taking a hard stance on it,”  O’Leary said.
