A man wanted for questioning in the theft of a van from a Safe Ride Program driver in Dodge County last week has been arrested. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Brian Krieger was apprehended over the weekend in Waukesha. Schmidt says the Safe Ride driver, Ronald Gaffner, let Krieger sleep on his couch during last week’s snowstorm. The next morning Krieger was gone and so was Gaffner’s flat screen television and mini van. Schmidt says another good samaritan stepped forward last week to help Gaffner after hearing what happened to him. Schmidt says a person who wished to remain anonymous donated a flat screen television for Gaffner. “Greg after I got off the air with you last week (Between the Lines program) I got a phone call and on New Year’s Eve we had somebody that actually donated a flat screen television for Ron,” Schmidt told WFDL news. Schmidt says while Gaffner was trying to help a person in need, the better idea would have been to call the Sheriff’s office to assist the intoxicated individual.
