There are no contested races in Waupun where mayor Kyle Clark is running for re-election. Incumbent aldermen, Julie Kaczmarski and Nancy Vanderkin are running for another term. Mike Matoushek is running for the district four seat after Steve Bastian filed a declaration of non candidacy. In the village of North Fond du Lac the filing deadline has been extended to Friday after incumbent Tammy Keller did not file non-candidacy papers even though she is not running. Incumbent Keith King and challenger John Duffy have filed papers for the two seats up for election. There are three candidates running for two seats on the Campbellsport School board…incumbents Deb Senn, Mike Weiss and challenger John Stommel. Incumbents Melissa Will and Pete Chisolm are running unopposed for the North Fond du Lac School Board. There are three seats up for election on the Waupun School Board. Incumbents Bill Bruins and Glen Wilson are running for re-election. Roger Schregardus is not and no one filed for that seat.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
