The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in connection with a burglary at a Campbellsport business. Sheriff’s lieutenant Cameron McGee says the Ben Franklin True Value Hardware store was burglarized sometime on January 3rd. McGee told WFDL news investigators developed a suspect during an investigation of a suspicious vehicle complaint and tracked the vehicles’ owner to Jefferson County where they discovered some of the stolen items at his home…and a storage shed full of stolen items. McGee says an arrest warrant has been issued for Daniel Johnson from the Jefferson area. McGee says it appears Johnson may have been involved in a rash of burglaries in several counties.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
