The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in connection with a burglary at a Campbellsport business. Sheriff’s lieutenant Cameron McGee says the Ben Franklin True Value Hardware store was burglarized sometime on January 3rd. McGee says investigators developed a suspect during an investigation of a suspicious vehicle complaint and tracked the vehicles’ owner to Jefferson County where they discovered at least some of the stolen items at his home…and a storage shed full of stolem items. Mcgee says a warrant has been issued for Daniel Johnson from the Jefferson area. McGee says it appears Johnson may have been involved in a rash of burglaries in several counties.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
