SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A hospital in Sheboygan is providing parents with a new option to connect with their newborns while the infants remain in the neonatal intensive care unit. The parents can see and talk to their babies through video-calling technology while they are away from Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. The hospital introduced the option for parents a month ago, after working through legal and security considerations. Oostburg couple Nicholas and Kris Wychesit have used FaceTime several times to connect with their newborn child Mason, who is in the hospital’s neonatal unit, when they can’t visit in person. Nicholas Wychesit says the video calls give him “peace of mind.” Families can also use other video-calling options such as Skype or Google Hangouts.
