NEW LISBON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say seven students were taken to the hospital after a school bus overturned in Juneau County. Thirty students were on the bus at the time of the crash Wednesday morning. New Lisbon Superintendent Dennis Birr says a school nurse and EMTs evaluated other students who were on the bus. Birr says most injuries were bumps and bruises. The seven students were taken to Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston. Other students on the bus were released to their parents.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
