1-7-16 st. mary’s springs academy asks for safety improvements at intersection

Fond du Lac County officials are reviewing possible modifications to an intersection near St. Mary’s Springs Academy.  At the request of the school, the Fond du Lac County Highway committee will discuss proposed changes to the intersection at County Highway K and Highway 23.   Highway Commissioner Tom Jahnke says the school made the request anticipating increased traffic when a school expansion project is completed this year.  “It still would allow for normal movements.  For vehicles northbound on Highway K, you’re still allowed to get into the city and do a left turn into the city and go west, and you’re still allowed to go east as well,”  Janke said.  “Its not as restrictive as what you see on the (151) Bypass when they put the slotted left turn lanes in.”
