A Fond du Lac man is in custody after he was stabbed during a domestic incident this week. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says officers were called to a Martin Avenue apartment complex for a report of a physical confrontation between a man and woman. “Apparently the 35 year old Fond du Lac man went after the female and was punching her. She was able to grab a steak knife and ended up stabbing the subject in the upper chest,” Klein told WFDL news. Klein says it appears the woman stabbed the man in self-defense. Klein says the man was treated at St. Agnes Hospital for minor injuries and then transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
