Fond du Lac police say the Department of Health Services is still looking for an approved location for a high risk child sex offender. Assistant police chief Steve Klein says Allen Sabel has moved from 457 Thomas Street this week and is living with relatives until a permanent location is found. Police say Sabel spent time in prison for the repeated sexual assault of the same child. When he was 13 years old he sexually assaulted an eight year old boy on multiple occasions and has three juvenile adjudications for sexually assaulting minors. The victims include preteen males and females who were known to him. Sabel is on extended supervision until October 2016.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
