Fond du lac police are investigating after a middle school student entered the Fond du lac Boys and Girls Club Wednesday night and displayed a toy gun. Boys and Girls Club Chief Professional Officer, Dan Hebel, says the student apparently pointed the gun at a staff member as a joke. A police report says the boy was also pretending to shoot kids who were in the building. “We at no point as an organization took it as a joke,” Hebel told WFDL news. “We took it as real until we had proof that it wasn’t.” Hebel says the Boys and Girls Club will be following up on the incident with the police department and school. “…making sure they handle it appropriately and have the same conversation we had with this young person.” Hebel says the incident happened shortly before the Club was closing for the evening.
