MILWAUKEE (AP) — A juror involved in the homicide case that spawned the popular Netflix series “Making a Murderer” says she stands by the verdict. The 10-part series about the convictions of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, which casts doubt on the legal process in the case, has been a huge hit. But Diane Free tells the Associated Press she’s “comfortable with the verdict we reached.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
