A group of area veterans is inviting the public to a chili cook-off. Navy Club state commander, Darrell Driscoll, says the second annual Chili Cook Off will be held from 3-7pm Saturday at the American Legion Hall on Fond du Lac Avenue. Driscoll says the cost is $10 for adults, $8 for veterans, and $4 for kids ages 6-17. Its all you can eat and all the proceeds go to help local veterans in need.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
