MILWAUKEE (AP) — A juror involved in the homicide case that spawned the Netflix series “Making a Murderer” says she stands by the verdict. The series covers the convictions of Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey. Avery was found guilty in the slaying of photographer Teresa Halbach. Juror Diane Free tells The Associated Press she’s “comfortable with the verdict we reached.”

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
