A Waupun man has pleaded no contest to a charge of having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl. Twenty seven year old Corey Teachout entered the plea Thursday in Dodge County Circuit Court to a charge of second degree sexual assault of a child. An additional count of second degree sexual assault of a child and a bail jumping count were dismissed and read into the record. A pre-sentence investigation has been ordered. Teachout had sex with the girl on multiple occasions as the two were dating. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for March 30th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
