1-10-16 dodge county barn fire

A number of livestock died, but fortunately no one was injured in a barn fire Saturday night near Mayville. At 10 p.m., the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the Dale Twardokous residence at N5952 Pierce Road in the Town of Herman, and Mayville. Upon arrival, the Iron Ridge Fire Department was on scene and the barn was fully engulfed in flames.  The Iron Ridge Fire Department confirmed no injuries, however an undetermined amount of livestock perished as a result of smoke inhalation. Iron Ridge firefighters were assisted by 10 other surrounding fire departments, 2 EMS units and the Sheriff’s Office.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
