The Fond du Lac County Highway Commissioner says several major road reconstruction projects are slated for this year. Tom Janke says some of the projects will be a continuation of road projects that started last year including finishing up work on a five mile stretch of Highway I. Janke says work will also continue on Highway G, along with Highways Y and AS. Work will also take place on the west Frontage Road in Fond du lac.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
