A North Fond du Lac man arrested after firing several rounds outside his village mobile home has been charged. Shannon Kavonius made his initial Fond du Lac Court appearance Monday on charges of endangering safety and possession of THC. Judge Dale English set bail at $500 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 29th. Police Chief Darren Pautsch says officers responded to the Gaslight Terrace Mobile Home Park late Thursday night to a report of shots fired. Pautsch says he’s relieved nobody was hurt.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
