todayJanuary 12, 2016

How much chocolate is too much chocolate? Trick question: No such thing. But no one can debate that 20 years of chocolate is a great milestone. Soroptimists of Fond du Lac will celebrate the 20th annual Chocolate Fantasy fundraiser on Sunday, January 31. Chocolate Fantasy is a whirlwind of chocolate tasting, a giant gift-basket silent auction and raffles held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Knights of Columbus Hall, 795 Fond du Lac Ave.  Over the years, the event has raised more than $220,000 for local organizations that benefit women and girls. This year, Chocolate Fantasy will benefit two Fond du Lac organizations, ASTOP and Solutions Center.  Tickets, $12 in advance and $15 at the door, this year come with a to-go container for leftovers and a bottle of water. Tickets are available at Fox Valley Savings Bank, Wegner Office Supply, Hometown Bank on Peters Avenue, EP-Direct, C.W. Smith Jewelers, Bank of Oakfield in Oakfield, Village Flower Shoppe in Mayville and from Soroptimist members.  A gaggle of the area’s top candy makers, restaurants and foodies will be handing out hundreds of chocolate samples, including a few familiar vendors who helped build the event over the years, such as Dairy Queen, End of the Trail Candy Shoppe and Confections for Any Occasion by Joel, joined by newcomers, including Annie’s Fountain City Café.  The event is sponsored by Fox Valley Savings Bank, Society Insurance, Hometown Bank, RRK CPA LLC, Schenck SC, Huberty CPAs & Trusted Advisors, American Bank, Jor-Mac Co., Bank of Oakfield, Michels Corp. and Agnesian HealthCare.  For more information, contact Susan Frankel at (920) 251-2259 or smfrankel5@gmail.com.
