A 22-year-old Fond du Lac man has been arrested after threatening his girlfriend with a knife. Bail was set at $500 cash for Eddrick Washington on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, intimidation of a victim, battery and disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon. The woman told police that Washington held a knife to her throat. Washington says he handed the knife to his girlfriend and said she should kill him. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 18th.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
