MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he supports Gov. Scott Walker’s college affordability plan and he hopes to pass it before the end of the legislative session. Vos says he hopes to pass the plan this spring. He didn’t offer a firmer timeline, but has said in the past he wants the Assembly to wrap up its work by the end of February.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
