1-25-16 lincoln hills employee fired for excessive force

todayJanuary 23, 2016

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Lincoln Hills School employee has been fired for excessive use of force and three others quit after they were put on paid leave as authorities investigate allegations of prisoner abuse.   Travis Taves was fired Friday. Another employee, Timothy Johnson, was among those who resigned, but Johnson says his resignation was a mistake. He wasn’t allowed to revoke it.  Taves and Johnson were allegedly involved in an incident in which a resident’s arm was broken. In another case, Johnson was with another teen when that teen’s arm was broken. In a third incident, a resident alleged Taves hit him in the head — which Taves denies.  Taves and Johnson say they did nothing wrong and believe they are being unfairly blamed for wide-ranging problems.
