Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home over the weekend. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Calumet Fire Department were dispatched to a structure fire at N7560 Sandy Beach Rd, in the town of Taycheedah shortly after 10:30pm Saturday. The fire appeared to have started in the area of the fireplace and chimney location of the residence. The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious. Fire Departments from the town of Fond du Lac, Mt. Calvary, Eden, Campbellsport, St. Cloud, and Lamartine along with Town of Calumet First Responders, Mt. Calvary Ambulance and RIT Team 3 assisted at the scene.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
