The Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Department says the use of Narcan was down last year…but the number of drug overdose deaths was up. Assistant Chief of EMS, Todd Janquardt, says paramedics administered Narcan 63 times in 2015 compared to 88 the year before. Janquardt says the number of overdose deaths in 2015 more than doubled. Janquardt says even though Narcan use was down significantly its way too early to say we are starting to turn the corner.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
