The Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and the Waupun Memorial Hospital (WMH) Special Events Committee is busy selling raffle tickets as part of its annual “An Evening of Chocolate & Wine” fund-raising event set from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, February 6 at Waupun City Hall, 201 E. Main Street. Raffle tickets are on sale for the opportunity to win four exciting prizes:
Grand Prize: White and Yellow Gold, .25 ct. tw. Diamond ring, value: $700 (Donated by Gysbers Jewelry)
Second Prize: Flowers Each Month for Six Months, value: $180 (Donated by Rens Floral)
Third Prize: One-Night Stay in a King Suite, Double Queen Suite or King Whirlpool Suite, Waupun AmericInn, value: $150 (Donated by AmericInn Hotel & Suites Waupun)
Fourth Prize: Gift Basket, value: $50 (Donated by Guth’s End of the Trail Candy Shoppe)
Tickets are $5 each or three for $20. Raffle tickets are available at Gysbers Jewelry, and the information desks at Waupun Memorial Hospital, Ripon Medical Center and St. Agnes Hospital. The February 6 event features chocolates and various hand-selected wines, specialty beers, local cheeses and a bountiful hors d’oeuvre buffet for $50 a person. The evening will feature jazz vocalist Ron Williams and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit WMH women’s health and breast care services. Dress is business casual. A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
