SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (AP) — Police say two children have died in a house fire in eastern Wisconsin. Authorities previously had said three children had died. But the Sheboygan Falls Police Department now says it can confirm that only two of the children have died. Among the dead is an 11-year-old who re-entered the house to rescue two other children. A fourth child, a 9-year-old girl, escaped from the burning home Tuesday night after the 11-year-old woke her up by yelling “fire, fire” and told her to run and get help. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
