MILWAUKEE (AP) — Federal agents say a Milwaukee man arrested for trying to buy machine guns to attack a Masonic temple also wanted to travel to the Middle East and kill Israelis, but abandoned that plan. Twenty-three-year-old Samy Mohamed Hamzeh is charged with unlawfully possessing a machine gun and receiving and possessing firearms not registered to him. The FBI recorded conversations between Hamzeh and two federal informants talking about an attack on a temple in Milwaukee.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
