BLUE MOUNDS, Wis. (AP) — A state board has approved plans that would allow snowmobiling in Wisconsin’s Blue Mound State Park, a popular cross-country skiing and snowshoeing spot in Dane and Iowa counties.  The park will add snowmobiling for the first time in more than 20 years after the state Natural Resources Board voted 7-0 Wednesday to approve changes to the park’s master plan. Department of Natural Resources staff recommended construction of a 1.4-mile snowmobile trail within the park.  Opponents of the plan said the trail would put cross-country skiers and others in direct contact with snowmobilers where trails would intersect.  Department of Natural Resources staff told the board that the snowmobile trail was an attempt to strike a middle ground.
