1-21-16 two people killed in sheboygan county traffic crash

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — Two people are dead following a wrong-way crash in Sheboygan County. Sheriff's officials say the drivers in both vehicles were killed when one of them headed north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 43 in the Town of Holland on Wednesday. The victims, ages 35 and 85, were alone in the vehicles.

1-21-16 nance murder trial underway

A jury trial is underway for a Fond du Lac woman charged in the shooting death of her husband.  During opening statements Wednesday afternoon assistant district attorney Dennis Krueger told the jury that Eve Nance killed her husband, Timothy Nance, because he was going to leave her for another woman.  Krueger used an overhead projector to show text messages between the couple and Tim Nance’s girlfriend.  Nance  is charged with first degree intentional homicide and […]

1-21-16 brownsville man charged in connection with high speed chase

A Brownsville man arrested following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac last weekend has been charged.  Twenty year old Aidan Klosterman made his initial Fond du lac Court appearance Wednesday on charges of  eluding and resisting an officer.  Bail was set at $500 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 19th.   The chase started shortly before 4:30am last Saturday on West 9th Street near the Aquatic Center and continued on South Military Road […]

1-21-16 wi hunter education instructor association opposes eliminating minimum hunting age

The president of the Wisconsin Hunter Education Instructor Association says a bill that would end Wisconsin’s minimum hunting age is a mistake.  Under Republican representative Joel Kleefisch’s  bill anyone of any age could hunt without safety training alongside a mentor, and the mentor could carry his or her own weapon. 1-21-16 senate okays eliminating state treasurer

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Senate has approved a constitutional amendment eliminating Wisconsin's all-but powerless treasurer position.  The amendment would eliminate the office in 2019. It must pass two consecutive legislative sessions as well as a statewide referendum before it can take effect.  The Assembly took the first vote on the amendment in October, passing it 63-33. (AP) — The state Senate has approved a bill that would allow hunters to wear fluorescent pink rather than traditional blaze orange.  Right now at least half of all clothing deer hunters wear above the waist must be blaze orange.
