1-12-16 walleye weekend fish weigh-in moving back to oven island

After two years in front of the lighthouse, the Fond du Lac Walleye Weekend fishing tournament weigh in is moving back to Oven Island next summer.  WFDL first reported in September  that city officials were working with Mercury Marine to make that happen. The cost of the permanent dock is $40,000.   The city will contribute $6,000, Fond du Lac Festivals has committed $5,000 and Merc will pick up the rest.  Construction plans have been approved […]

1-12-16 nfdl man charged in gun incident

A North Fond du Lac man arrested after firing several rounds outside his village mobile home has been charged.  Shannon Kavonius made his initial Fond du Lac Court appearance Monday on charges of endangering safety and possession of THC.  Judge Dale English set bail at $500 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 29th.   Police Chief Darren Pautsch says officers responded to the Gaslight Terrace Mobile  Home Park late Thursday night […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance says state residents paid an estimated $80 billion in federal, state and local taxes last year. The government research organization released a report saying federal taxes accounted for nearly two-thirds of taxes paid and 20.5 percent of personal income.

Scott Walker has appointed two new retired judges to serve on the Government Accountability Board before it disappears.  The governor announced Monday he has picked Edward Leineweber and Victor Manian to serve on the board.
