1-10-16 waupun man convicted of child sex assault

A Waupun man has pleaded no contest to a charge of having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl.  Twenty seven year old Corey Teachout entered the plea Thursday in Dodge County Circuit Court to a charge of second degree sexual assault of a child.  An additional count of second degree sexual assault of a child and a bail jumping count were dismissed and read into the record.  […]

1-10-16 fdl woman charged with theft from corpse

A Fond du Lac woman is accused of  stealing drugs and a cell phone from a man who died from a heroin overdose.  Madonna Broderick is charged with theft from a corpse, possession of narcotic drugs and cocaine and resisting an officer.  According to a criminal complaint Broderick stole the items from the body of Gary Vannorman after he died in September and lying to detectives about what happened.

1-10-16 dodge county sheriff’s office snowmobile trail ambassador program

With the snowmobile season approaching The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with The Dodge County Association of Snowmobile Clubs in establishing a Trail Ambassador Program.  Members from the club have volunteered for this program to assist with monitoring the 400 miles of trails that are in Dodge County.  The ambassadors will patrol the trails to discourage irresponsible behavior through education, assist all trail users and assist with search and […]

A group of area veterans is inviting the public to a chili cook-off.  Navy Club state commander, Darrell Driscoll, says the second annual Chili Cook Off will be held from 3-7pm Saturday at the American Legion Hall on Fond du Lac Avenue.  Driscoll says the cost is $10 for adults, $8 for veterans, and $4 for kids ages 6-17.  Its all you can eat and all the proceeds go to help local veterans in […]

1-8-16 rolling meadows restaurant fire quickly extinguished

Nobody was injured in a fire at Rolling Meadows restaurant in Fond du lac. Firefighters were called to the scene about 5:30am Friday and the fire was brought under control  in less than an hour.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says decorative neon lighting may have short-circuited and caused the fire.

1-8-16 fdl boy says gun incident at boys and girls club was “a joke”

1-8-16 waupun man placed on probation for cocaine conviction

A Waupun man convicted of selling crack cocaine has been  placed on probation.  Dodge County Circuit Judge, Joseph Sciascia placed 37 year old Gary Campbell on five years probation with a year in the county jail.  Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg argued for a 15 year prison sentence.    Campbell had served a ten year prison sentence for reckless homicide, and had been out of prison only four months before he was arrested in Beaver […]
