The filing deadline has been extended for a Fond du Lac county board seat where the incumbent failed to collect the necessary signatures to file nomination papers.  The deadline has been extended to 5pm Friday in District 16 because supervisor Martin Schroeder did not file non-candidacy status.  Schroeder turned in his papers late Tuesday afternoon…but did not have enough valid signatures because some of the people who signed were from outside his district.  Tom Wendt also did […]

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in connection with a burglary at a Campbellsport business.   Sheriff’s lieutenant Cameron McGee says the Ben Franklin True Value Hardware store was burglarized sometime on January 3rd. 1-7-16 high-priced guitars shoplifted from mike’s music

A bold musician walked into Mike’s Music in Fond du Lac Wednesday, practiced on some of the instruments,  and then quickly grabbed two high-priced guitars and fled.  Store owner Dan Gilgenbach says the thief stole a Fender Telecaster and handmade Breedlove acoustic guitar before getting into a car parked outside with the engine running and fled the scene.   The car had Illinois license plates.  Gilgenbach says a store employee tried to chase the suspect but it […]

1-7-16 st. mary’s springs academy asks for safety improvements at intersection

Fond du Lac County officials are reviewing possible modifications to an intersection near St. Mary’s Springs Academy.  At the request of the school, the Fond du Lac County Highway committee will discuss proposed changes to the intersection at County Highway K and Highway 23.   Highway Commissioner Tom Jahnke says the school made the request anticipating increased traffic when a school expansion project is completed this year.  "It still would allow for normal movements.  For vehicles […]

The Fond du lac County Public Health Officer says its still not too late to get a flu shot.  Kim Mueller says The flu season is expected to peak in the next few weeks.  Mueller says so far its been a relatively mild flu season.  She says there is plenty of flu vaccine to go around.

1-7-16 tomah va police investigating sexual assault allegations

TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — Police at the Tomah Veterans Administration Medical Center are investigating allegations that a mental health counselor sexually assaulted patients in the hospital's psychiatric unit. The 47-year-old man was arrested Monday by the Tomah VA police and booked into jail.  He was released on a signature bond Tuesday and is expected to be charged next week.
