1-26-16 brandon man convicted of possession of child porn sentenced to prison

A Brandon man convicted of possession of child pornography has been sentenced to prison.  Thirty eight year old Scott Knuuttila pleaded no contest to two counts of possession of child pornography.  Eight counts were dismissed and read into the record.  Fond du Lac Judge Robert Wirtz sentenced Knuuttila to four years in prison followed by three years of extended supervision.  Knuuttila was a volunteer with the Dodge County Emergency Response  team until he was arrested last May.

1-26-16 anti-heroin bills

The author of a package of anti-heroin bills says he’s pleased the state senate has approved the measures.  The bills would crack down on tracking prescription drugs as a way to combat heroin abuse.  State representative John Nygren says one bill would require opiate dispensers to enter prescriptions into a  statewide database within 24 hours.  Other bills would require police who find an opiate prescription at an overdose scene to enter it into the database, […]

1-26-16 fdl city manager receives positive performance evaluation

The Fond du Lac City Council recently completed City Manager Joseph Moore’s 2015 performance review. Using a scale of one to five to measure 15 elements of performance and leadership, one being poor and five being outstanding, the City Council provided Moore a combined average rating of 4.73.  Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan called Moore’s performance impressive. Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home over the weekend.
